Reports have it that FIFA president Sepp Blatter, may change his mind on resignation and continue as the boss of the world football governing body. The 79-year-old, according to Swiss media is having a rethink about stepping down, after resigning few days of being re-elected for a fifth term.

Federal Government To Pay Unemployed Graduates & Poor Nigerians N5,000 Monthly

The federal government is on the verge of fulfilling one of its campaign promises as the president Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is set to pay the poorest citizens across the country.

Making this disclosure during the 10th year anniversary lecture of Crescent University, Abeokuta was Nigeria’s vice president, professor Yemi Osinbajo, who hinted that the unemployed as well as the poor Nigerians would pocket N5,000 monthly.

President Buhari Orders Release Of N4bn To fight Boko Haram

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said he had directed that $21m out of the pledge of $100m which Nigeria made to the Multinational Joint Task Force be released within the next one week.

Buhari disclosed this at the 25th AU summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. He chaired the Peace Security Council at the event.

Nigeria To Release N22bn Funding For MNJTF

President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to offset the pledge of $100 million (about N21.5billion) for the funding of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) as promised by the Nigerian government.

Speaking at an Extra-Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, President Buhari reassured the leaders “I hereby reassure you that my government will keep faith with this promise.”

Tunisia rescues 350 migrants heading to Italy

   


Tunisia’s navy rescued more than 350 illegal migrants off its coast and was searching for hundreds more on Wednesday after they tried to sail from neighbouring Libya to the Italian island of Lampedusa, the local Red Cross said.
Boat smugglers often use Tunisia’s proximity to the Italian coast to ship migrants there.

12-Year-Old Boy Killed By Flood In Lagos

During the Wednesday, June 10th Rain came on Ejigbo area of Lagos, a 12-year-old boy lost his life.

Also, nine buildings, including a police barracks, went up in flames. Although no life was lost in the different fire incidents, several families were rendered homeless.
At press time, information on how the 12-year-old boy met his death was still sketchy. But it was gathered that e flood carried him into a canal at Orilowo area of Ejigbo. At 7p.m. on Wednesday, his body was yet to be found.

WOMEN protest for lack of MEN to make them pregnant

Call it whatever you will but reports have it that Kenyan women on Thursday held a serious demo in Limuru, Kiambu County protesting the dwindling performance of men in the bedroom.
A Kenyan website, Tuko, reports that a section of women held a peaceful demonstration in Ndeiya ward claiming that most of their men, including young men have failed to perform their conjugal rights.
The women said the trend was worsened by high levels of alcohol consumption which saw many men abandon their families.

EFCC Arrests 14 Foreigners For Oil Bunkering

Here are the 14 foreign nationals that were yesterday June 10 arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for engaging in oil bunkering in Nigeria.

Workers Shut Down AIT Radio Station Over 17 Months Unpaid Salaries

Workers of Daar Communications Plc, operators of African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM Radio, yesterday shut down all broadcasting activities at the Benin studio in protest over unpaid  17 months salaries.
The scores of protesting workers were said to have blocked the main entrance to the station located along the Benin/Lagos bypass.

Instead, an unidentified young man speaks in the name of "The army of the caliphate in West Africa". Shekau's absence from the video has fuelled speculation about his fate,BBC reports.

This Is Serious!!! Five Confirmed Dead after Eating Dog Meat At Woji in Rivers

At least five persons have  been confirmed dead at Woji, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, after eating dog meat from a popular inn in the area.
According to Vanguard, the dog meat was alleged to have been cooked by one Friday Dickson, popularly called Etiaba. Etiaba had been in the area for a long time, running an inn where he cooks only dog meat in Mini-Woji Road at Woji Town.

She was last seen on Sunday May 31st in Owo, Ondo State where armed robbers attacked a GUO Transport bus conveying her and several other passengers to Lagos. Ijeoma, a graduate of the University of Ado-Ekiti, left Jigawa for Lagos State on saturday 30th of May after completing her 3 weeks orientation exercise but stopped over in Abuja to continue her journey on Sunday being a long trip.

President Buhari Seeks Senate Approval For 15 Special Advisers

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday requested the approval of the Senate to appoint 15 Special Advisers, who will assist him to carry out his functions as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

Landlord’s Son Stabs Pregnant Woman In Benin

A pregnant woman, Mrs Ajayi (surname withheld), was allegedly stabbed by her landlord’s son at the weekend, forcing her into forced labour and child birth at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo State.

The boy simply identified as Osanwa was said to have stabbed the pregnant woman who was to be an occupant of the compound along St. Mary’s Church, Textile Main Road in Benin, for five years.

Three final year Nursing Students of Edo State School of Nursing, have, according to reports, gang-raped a six-year old girl in Benin. Already, the police have arrested two of the students while the third suspect in crime is said to have ran away.
The suspects had (claimed to be) committed the crime after attracting the little girl from a temporary/quickly made store within the school hostel, while her mother was away.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday failed to resume work at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
